How we make money

Installers pay us a fee when we introduce a homeowner who asks for a quote. Nothing on this site costs you anything, and the fee does not change the price you are quoted.

The specifics

  • We are paid per introduction, not per sale, and not a percentage of your installation.
  • We are paid the same amount by every installer for the same type of job. No installer can buy a better position, a recommendation, or more of your attention.
  • We sell exclusive introductions, not shared ones. Your details go to the installers named on the form and to nobody else — we do not sell the same enquiry to five companies, which is the practice behind most complaints about solar quote sites.
  • We take no commission from finance. We do not introduce anyone to a lender or a credit broker at all, because doing that for a fee is a regulated activity we are not authorised for. Installers arrange their own finance under their own permissions.
  • We run no affiliate links to equipment, and we do not take payment to feature a panel, an inverter or a battery brand.

Where our interests and yours diverge — honestly

We are not neutral about wanting you to request quotes. That is how the site is funded, and you should read everything here knowing it.

What limits the damage is that we are paid per introduction rather than per sale, and an introduction that does not convert is worth nothing to us and less than nothing to the installer who paid for it. A site that sends unqualified enquiries loses its buyers within a quarter. So the commercial incentive genuinely does point at telling you when your roof faces north, when you do not qualify for a grant, and when the payback is sixteen years rather than eight.

It also points at the eligibility checker giving you a real answer including "no", rather than collecting your details and letting an installer discover it on your doorstep.

What we are not paid for

The guidance, the tables and the tools are free and ungated, and there is no version of this site behind an email address. Gating a calculator would trade the links that let a young site rank for a mailing list, which is a bad trade — so the tools stay open, run entirely in your browser, and ask for nothing.

Who receives your details

Nobody, currently. No lead buyer is signed, and we do not collect contact details until we can name on the form exactly who would receive them. See partners.
