Privacy notice
The short version: the tools collect nothing, the update list collects an email address and never shares it, and the quote form collects contact details that go only to installers named on screen before you submit.
Who we are
UKSolars is the data controller for information collected through this site. Our ICO registration is not yet in place, which is why no form on this site currently collects contact details — see the note below.
What the tools collect: nothing
The payback calculator and the eligibility checker run entirely in your browser. Your income band, benefit status, postcode, roof details and electricity usage are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. There is no hidden submission and no analytics event carrying your answers — the calculation happens on your device and stays there.
What we collect, when you choose to give it
- Update alerts. Your email address, and the page you signed up from. Used only to email you when a scheme, rate or rule changes. Never passed to an installer, never sold, never rented.
- Quote requests. Your name, email, phone number, postcode and the answers you gave about your property. Passed to the installers named on the form.
- Messages. Whatever you put in a contact form.
The consent record
When you tick a consent box we record what you were shown, not just that you ticked it: the exact wording, the version of that wording, the page URL, the timestamp, your IP address and your browser's user agent. That is so the record can be reconstructed later — it protects you as much as it protects us, because it is what makes an unauthorised contact provable.

Who receives your details
Nobody. No lead buyer is signed and no form on this site currently collects contact details for onward introduction. The full list, when there is one, lives on partners and is also shown on the form itself.
Once an introduction is made, that installer is a separate data controller with its own obligations. We hold a data-sharing agreement with each one prohibiting marketing beyond your enquiry and prohibiting onward sale.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it — one click on any email, or a message. If you have already been introduced to an installer, ask us and we will tell you which one so you can make the same request of them.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first, but you do not have to.
Cookies and analytics
With your permission, this site uses Google Analytics 4 under measurement ID
G-G4XH5NPMP2 to measure page views and non-identifying actions such as
assessment steps, CTA clicks and successful forms. Analytics is off until you accept it,
advertising storage remains disabled, and form values, names, email addresses, phone
numbers and postcodes are never sent as analytics parameters. You can
change your analytics choice at any time.
Retention
Update-list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Quote enquiries and their consent records are kept for as long as we need to evidence the consent, and no longer.
