Which UK solar funding could you get?

Six questions, and the answer on this page rather than in a phone call — including when the answer is that nothing currently funds you. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Not a government service. UKSolars is an independent company. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of the UK Government, DESNZ, Ofgem, MCS or any local authority. We do not administer any grant scheme, we cannot approve an application, and we never charge for anything a government provides free.

How we are paid. We are paid a fee by installers when we introduce a homeowner who asks for a quote. It does not change your price, and we are not paid more by one installer than another for the same job. In full.

High-level UK solar funding screening route through tenure, roof suitability, household circumstances, EPC and local scheme availability
This screening route narrows the possibilities; it does not guarantee funding. The named scheme administrator makes the decision.

Question 1 of 6

Do you own the property?

Grant schemes and installers both need to know who can authorise work on the roof.

Your answers are scored in your browser. Nothing about your income, your benefits or your postcode is transmitted unless you separately choose to be introduced to an installer.

Common questions

Do I have to give my email to see the result?
No. The result appears on screen at the end of the six questions, whatever it is. You are only asked for contact details if you then choose to be introduced to an installer, and that screen names exactly who would receive them.
Where do my answers go?
Nowhere. The questions are scored entirely in your browser — your income band, benefit status and postcode are never transmitted unless you separately choose to request quotes and tick the consent box.
Is this an application?
No. UKSolars is independent and cannot administer or approve any grant. This tells you which schemes your circumstances point at; the application itself goes to your local authority, an approved installer or an energy supplier depending on the scheme.
What if I do not qualify for anything?
The result will say that no current grant fits. It will still point you to relevant options, such as export tariffs and the cost calculator.
