Octopus Energy export tariffs
Short answer
Octopus offers more than one export arrangement and the best choice depends on your import tariff, meter and equipment. Rates and availability change, so use this page to understand the choices, then confirm the live rate, compatibility and terms on Octopus Energy’s own website before applying.

Compare the whole arrangement
Start with the current export rate, but also check whether the tariff requires an Octopus import tariff, specific technology or half-hourly settlement. Time-based tariffs can reward exports in one period and pay less in another, so compare them with when your system actually exports.
Before applying
- identify the exact tariff name;
- check import-tariff and equipment compatibility;
- confirm certification and meter requirements;
- read fixed, variable or time-based rate terms; and
- save the dated terms used for your decision.
Rates on comparison pages can be stale
Our SEG rate table records a verification date. Always make the final decision from Octopus Energy’s current tariff page and terms.
If the tariff fits, follow the SEG application checklist.
